Loads
shown in the tables below are the allowable uniform loads
in pounds per square foot (kilopascals).
•
For
spans of 4 ft 6 in. (1.37 m) and over, loads that are in brackets
indicate that the allowable total load shown
is limited to the live load, producing a deflection equal
to the span/240 plus 10 psf (0.5 kPa). For spans of less
than 4 ft 6 in. (1.37 m), loads that are in brackets indicate
that the allowable total load shown is limited by web
crippling instead of bending.

Properties
are based on a unit width of 12 in. for imperial units and
a unit width of 1000 mm for S.I. units.
The properties in the table were calculated according to AISI
1996 Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed
Steel Structural Members, considering steel produced according
to ASTM A 653 SS Grade 33,
yield strength = 33 ksi (230 MPa).
Installation
Steel
deck sheets lap one another side to side and length to length.
Deck is fastened to suggested methods of deck
fastening supports using 12-24 x 1 ¼" TEK #5 screws
(C10 optional). End of deck panels should have a screw (C10)
in each corrugation touching the supports and they should
be installed in alternate corrugations where they meet the
channels along the interior length of the deck panel. NOTE:
If screws are used to attach deck to supports, a
12-24 x 1 ¼" TEK #5 is advised. If deck is welded
then Arc Puddle Welds are generally the most efficient and
economical method of attaching steel deck to structural supports.
Either E60XX or E70XX welding rods are
recommended and the amperage must be adjusted to individual
jobsite requirements: the American Welding Society
Specifications for Welding Sheet Steel in Structures should
be followed.
