Drum Karriers are built with welded structural
steel for long
service. Use the tilt locks at each side of the frame to lock
the
drum in upright or horizontal position. When unlocked, manually
tilt the drum to any angle for discharging contents, and rotate
drum
by hand 360° in either direction.

85i and 85i-SS have a flexible chain
cover over the cinch chain to help protect the
sidewall of your drum. The drum holder is
improved to accept the Bracket Assembly and
Diameter Adaptors (shown on side 1), which

How
to Use Below-Hook Drum Karriers
The
suspended Drum-Karrier is pushed against the drum
so that the drum holder is positioned to engage between
the drum ribs. Tighten the cinch chain around your drum to
secure it in the drum holder. No tools are required to apply
suitable tension to secure the drum. Raise your hoist and
move the drum to a location for dispensing.
You
can turn drum 360° in either direction. Pull out
the tilt locks and tilt the drum by hand to dispense its
contents. The drum can be locked at either horizontal
or vertical position... also lock the drum at 45
degrees up or down.

Strength Lifting Components and Drum Holder
Below-Hook
Drum Karriers use high strength lifting components as specified
by OSHA for overhead lifting.
Each and every one is load tested at the factory at 125% of
rated capacity as per American National Standard
ANSI/ASME B30.20, and a load test certificate is enclosed with
each unit when shipped.
Drum lifters comply with ANSI/ASME B30.20 standard for mechanical,
below-the-hook lifting devices as it applies
to the following:
• Rated load markings and unit identification
• Minimum design safety factor of 3, based on yield strength,
for load bearing structural components
• Welding is performed by certified welders who have passed
the ANSI/AWS D14.1 welding qualification test
• All welding is in accordance with ANSI/AWS D14.1 and
ASME BTH-1

AND ACCESSORIES
The
Bracket Assembly is required for handling
a
RIMLESS 55-gallon (210 liter) plastic drum. It provides
a brace at the top and bottom of drum to prevent it from
slipping lengthways through drum holder. It adjusts for a
31" to 39" (78.7 to 99 cm) tall drum.
The
Top Rim Clamp grips the upper rim
of a 55-gallon
(210 liter) RIMMED plastic or fiber drum to prevent it
from slipping through the drum holder. Clamp it to the top
rim of your drum, then secure the cinch chain around the
drum as usual.

Diameter
Adaptors (see chart below) are available
to insert into the drum holder of model 85i or
85i-SS for handling various smaller drums. Select
the correct size Diameter Adaptor for each drum.
Adaptors for a 18.5" (47 cm) diameter or larger can
be used in combination with the Bracket Assembly. Diameter Adaptors
for a drum with 17.5" (44.5 cm) diameter or smaller have
integrated end brackets
which adjust for a drum up to 38" (96.5 cm) tall.
